Roth IRAs and Conversions
In 1998, converting regular IRAs to Roth IRA was a
hot topic. One would be able to obtain the advantages of a Roth IRA in the
future. While the converted IRA would be subject to tax, the tax was
deferred over four years.
While conversions made in 1999 and later do not get the benefit
of a 4-year spread of the tax., conversions to Roth IRAs can still make
sense. However, one must make a careful analysis of the benefits and costs
to determine if such a conversion meets your situation.
Much of the analysis done by other companies have failed to take
all factors into account. We have developed our own software program so as
